Water thoroughly when the top 5-7 cm of soil feels dry to the touch. Allow excess water to drain away completely.

Reduce watering significantly during the winter dormancy period, keeping the soil barely moist to prevent rot. Overwatering is the most common cause of failure.

Remove spent flower stalks at their base to encourage further blooming and maintain a tidy appearance. Dead or damaged leaves should also be trimmed off at any time of year.

Heavy pruning is generally not required unless the plant becomes overgrown or damaged.

Propagate by offsets (bulblets) that form around the base of the parent bulb. Carefully separate these when the plant is dormant or during repotting.

Pot them into a well-draining mix, keeping them slightly moist and warm until established.

Repot every 2-3 years or when the bulb outgrows its container, preferably in spring before active growth begins. Use a large, deep pot with excellent drainage and a well-draining, gritty potting mix.

Ensure the neck of the bulb remains slightly exposed.
