Water crownvetch regularly during its establishment phase, especially in dry periods. Once established, it is highly drought-tolerant and requires minimal watering.

Allow the soil to dry out between waterings to prevent root rot. Overwatering can lead to fungal diseases, so ensure good drainage.

Prune crownvetch in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead, damaged, or overgrown stems to maintain shape and vigor. This also helps control its sprawling habit.

Cut back leggy growth to encourage bushier development and more flowering, though it tolerates hard pruning if necessary.
