Water deeply when the top 5 cm of soil feels dry to the touch. Avoid waterlogging, ensuring good drainage. Reduce watering in winter when the plant is dormant, but do not let the soil dry out completely.

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth starts. Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. For shape and vigor, cut back stems by about one-third, aiming for an open, outward-facing structure.

Remove any suckers originating from below the graft.

Rosa cymosa is typically propagated by grafting or budding onto rootstock. Cuttings can be taken from semi-ripe wood in summer or hardwood cuttings in autumn, but success rates can vary.

Seed propagation is also possible but may result in offspring with different characteristics.
