Angelica dahurica prefers consistently moist soil, especially during its active growth phase. Water deeply when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogged conditions, which can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering slightly in winter when the plant is dormant, but do not let the soil dry out completely.

Prune away any dead, damaged, or diseased stems as needed throughout the year. After flowering, you can deadhead to prevent self-seeding if desired, or allow the plant to set seed.

In late autumn or early spring, cut back the old foliage to the ground to encourage fresh growth.
