Water Dendrobium orchids thoroughly when the potting medium is nearly dry. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Ensure good drainage and allow for some air circulation.

Reduce watering during cooler, dormant periods to prevent issues. Typically, watering once a week is sufficient during active growth.

Prune spent flower spikes by cutting them back to the base or to a dormant node if you suspect reblooming. Remove any yellowing or dead leaves and pseudobulbs to maintain plant health and aesthetics.

This also helps prevent disease and encourages new growth. Trim roots that have become overly long or damaged during repotting.

Dendrobium orchids can be propagated through division, typically during repotting. Separate mature pseudobulbs with at least two or three healthy growths attached.

Allow the cut surfaces to callus over for a day or two before repotting them in fresh orchid mix. Keikis (baby plants) can also be carefully removed and potted separately.
