Overwatering is a common issue, so err on the side of caution, especially with young plants or in cooler conditions.

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. This is an excellent time to shape the plant and remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches.

Light shaping can also be done after flowering to maintain form and encourage denser foliage.

Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer. Dip cuttings in rooting hormone and plant in a well-draining, moist medium. Maintain high humidity and warmth until roots develop.

Alternatively, seeds can be sown in autumn or spring.

Repot young plants annually or every two years, and mature plants every 3-4 years. Repot in spring just as growth begins. Use a well-draining potting mix.
