During its dormant period in summer, reduce watering significantly to prevent fungal issues and root rot.

Pruning is generally not required for Gibbaeum petrense. Remove any dead or dried leaves at the base of the plant to maintain aesthetics and prevent potential fungal infections. Avoid cutting into healthy tissue.

Propagation is best done through offsets (pups) which form at the base of mature plants. Gently separate these offsets during spring or autumn when they have developed their own roots, and pot them in well-draining soil.

Repot only when the plant has outgrown its container, typically every 2-3 years. Use a gritty, fast-draining succulent or cactus mix.

Repot in spring or early autumn, just before or after the main growing season, to minimize stress.
