Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during the growing season. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry.

Reduce watering in autumn and winter, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Avoid overhead watering to prevent fungal diseases.

Prune immediately after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth for the following year. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches.

For rejuvenation, severely prune old, overgrown plants down to about 30 cm from the ground in late winter.

Easily propagated from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in mid-summer. Select healthy, non-flowering shoots, and insert them into moist, well-draining potting mix. Rooting typically occurs within 4-6 weeks.

Alternatively, sow seeds in autumn or propagate by layering.

Young plants benefit from repotting every 1-2 years in early spring. Mature plants can be repotted less frequently, perhaps every 3-4 years, or when they become root-bound. Use a good quality, well-draining potting mix.

Ensure the new pot is only slightly larger than the current one.
