Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Echeveria mucronata is susceptible to root rot if overwatered. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry, and ensure good drainage.

Reduce watering significantly during winter dormancy.

Prune to remove dead or damaged leaves and to maintain shape. If the plant becomes leggy, you can prune back the rosettes to encourage bushier growth. Use clean, sharp tools to make precise cuts.

Remove any dried flower stalks after blooming.

Easily propagated from offsets (pups) that grow around the base of the mother plant.

Gently remove offsets with roots attached and allow the cut surface to callus over for a few days before planting in well-draining soil. Leaf cuttings can also be successful.

Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant outgrows its container. Use a well-draining succulent or cactus mix. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one and has drainage holes.

Repotting is best done in spring or early summer.
