Maintain consistently moist substrate, especially during active growth. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely.

In warmer conditions or if grown submerged, ensure ample water availability to prevent wilting and maintain turgor.

Regular pruning encourages bushier growth and prevents overcrowding. Trim stems just above a leaf node to promote branching. Remove any yellowing or decaying leaves promptly to maintain plant health and aesthetics.

Easily propagated by stem cuttings. Simply cut a healthy stem segment that includes several leaf nodes and plant it in the substrate or float it in water. Roots will readily form, leading to new plants.

Division of established clumps is also effective.

Elodea granatensis is a vigorous grower and may require repotting if it outgrows its container or if the substrate becomes depleted. This is best done in spring.
