Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Peperomia caperata prefers consistently moist, but not waterlogged, soil. Overwatering can lead to root rot, while underwatering may cause wilting.

Reduce watering frequency during the cooler, dormant winter months.

Prune to maintain shape and remove any dead or yellowing leaves. Pinch back the tips of stems to encourage bushier growth. Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears.

Pruning can be done any time of year, but is most effective during the active growing season.

Propagate from stem cuttings or leaf cuttings. For stem cuttings, take 5-10 cm cuttings and remove lower leaves. For leaf cuttings, cut a healthy leaf with its petiole and insert into moist potting mix.

Both methods prefer warm temperatures and high humidity.

Repot every 1-2 years when the plant becomes root-bound or outgrows its pot. Use a well-draining potting mix, ideally one formulated for aroids or succulents.

Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one to avoid overwatering issues.
