Water regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Reduce watering in cooler months.

Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot, especially in containers.

Pinch back young plants to encourage bushier growth and more blooms. Remove spent flowers regularly (deadheading) to promote continuous flowering and prevent the plant from putting energy into seed production.

Trim back leggy stems to maintain a compact shape.

Easily propagated from seed sown in spring, either directly outdoors or started indoors a few weeks prior. Seeds germinate readily in warm conditions.

Cuttings can also be taken from healthy stems during the growing season and rooted in moist soil or water.

Repot young plants annually or when they become root-bound, typically in spring. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one. Use a well-draining potting mix.

Mature plants may only need repotting every 2-3 years.
