Remove spent flower stalks after blooming to direct energy back into the bulb and prevent seed production. Dead or yellowing foliage can be trimmed back as it naturally dies off.

Avoid pruning live green leaves, as they are essential for bulb nourishment.

The easiest method is by dividing offsets or 'daughter' bulbs that form around the parent bulb. Gently separate these during repotting in the dormant season and plant them individually.

Seed propagation is also possible but slower and requires specific conditions.

Repot every 2-3 years, or when the bulbs become overcrowded. The best time is during their dormant period (late autumn to winter).

Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a sandy loam, and ensure the bulbs are planted at the correct depth with their tips just at or slightly above the soil surface.
