Water consistently to keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry out slightly between waterings.

Reduce watering frequency during cooler months or when the plant is dormant to prevent root rot.

Prune to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Deadhead spent flowers to prevent self-seeding, if desired, and remove any yellowing or damaged foliage. Light pruning can be done at any time of year.

Propagate by seeds sown in spring or by stem cuttings taken in late spring or early summer. Seeds may require stratification. Cuttings should be rooted in a well-draining potting mix in a warm, humid environment.
