Reduce watering slightly once established, but avoid letting the soil dry out completely, as this can stress the plant and affect leaf quality.

Pinch back young plants to encourage bushier growth. Regularly harvest outer leaves to promote continuous production. If the plant becomes leggy or starts to flower prematurely, a light trim can help rejuvenate it.

Remove any yellowing or diseased leaves promptly.

Garden orache is easily grown from seed. Sow seeds directly outdoors in early spring after the last frost, or start them indoors a few weeks prior. Seeds germinate readily in warm soil.

It can also be propagated by cuttings taken in early summer.
