Calotropis procera is highly drought-tolerant once established. Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

Overwatering is a common cause of root rot, especially in container plants. Reduce watering significantly during cooler months or periods of dormancy.

Pruning is generally minimal. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches to maintain a tidy appearance and improve air circulation. If the plant becomes leggy, light pruning can encourage bushier growth.

The sap is milky and can be an irritant, so wear gloves when pruning.

Propagation is typically done by seeds or stem cuttings. Seeds require warm temperatures and good drainage to germinate.

Cuttings should be taken from healthy, mature stems and allowed to callus for a few days before planting in a well-draining medium. Rooting can be slow.
