Water gladioli regularly, especially during their active growth and flowering periods. Aim to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.

Reduce watering as the foliage begins to yellow and die back in autumn, preparing the corms for dormancy.

Remove spent flower spikes as soon as the blooms fade to prevent the plant from putting energy into seed production. Cut the flower stalk down to the base of the plant.

Leave the foliage intact until it naturally yellows and dies back, as this nourishes the corm for the following year.
