Light trimming can be done to maintain a tidy appearance or to shape the plant, but it is not essential for plant health.

Propagate by seed sown directly into the garden in autumn or early spring, as it dislikes transplanting. Seeds require light to germinate, so sow them on the surface of the soil and press down lightly.
