Water Purslane thrives in consistently moist to submerged conditions. For potted plants, keep the soil perpetually waterlogged. In aquatic settings, ensure the roots are covered by at least 5-10 cm of water.

Avoid letting the substrate dry out, as this can quickly stress the plant.

Pruning Water Purslane is primarily for maintaining desired size and shape, or for propagation. Trim stems just above a leaf node to encourage bushier growth. Remove any yellowing or decaying leaves promptly.

Regular trimming helps prevent overcrowding in aquatic environments.

Water Purslane is easily propagated by stem cuttings. Simply take healthy stem tips, about 5-10 cm long, and plant them in moist substrate or float them in water. Roots will typically form within a few weeks.

It can also readily spread via seeds if allowed to flower and set seed.

Repotting is rarely necessary for Water Purslane unless it's outgrowing its container or becoming too dense. If repotting, use a heavy, nutrient-rich aquatic soil mix.

Ensure the new pot has adequate drainage if not fully submerged, or simply place the plant into a larger aquatic setup.
