Helenium amphibolum prefers consistently moist soil. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogging, especially in winter. Good drainage is crucial to prevent root rot.

Reduce watering slightly in cooler months but do not allow the soil to dry out completely.

Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowering and maintain a tidy appearance. Cut back the plant by about one-third after flowering to promote a bushier habit and prevent self-seeding.

A hard prune to ground level in late autumn or early spring will rejuvenate the plant.

Divide established clumps in spring or autumn. Carefully separate the root ball into sections, ensuring each piece has roots and shoots. Replant immediately into well-prepared soil or pots.

Alternatively, propagate from seed sown in autumn or early spring in a cold frame.

Helenium amphibolum generally does not require frequent repotting if grown in the ground. For potted specimens, repot every 2-3 years in spring.
