Water regularly, especially during dry periods, ensuring the soil remains consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry out between waterings.

Reduce watering frequency in winter to prevent root rot, but do not allow the plant to dry out completely.

Prune after flowering to maintain shape and control size. Remove dead, diseased, or crossing stems. Hard pruning in late winter can rejuvenate older plants, encouraging vigorous new growth.

Thin out crowded stems to improve air circulation and light penetration.

Easily propagated from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in mid-summer. Dip the cut ends in rooting hormone and insert into moist potting mix. Alternatively, sow seeds in autumn or spring, though germination can be slow.

Layering is also an effective method.

Repot young plants annually in spring. Mature plants can be repotted every 2-3 years or when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix.

Ensure the new pot is only slightly larger than the previous one to avoid overwatering issues.
