Water Japanese honeysuckle regularly, especially during dry spells, to maintain consistently moist soil. Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry out between waterings once established.

Avoid waterlogging, as this can lead to root rot. Deep watering is more beneficial than frequent shallow watering.

Prune Japanese honeysuckle to control its vigorous growth and shape. After flowering, remove spent blooms and any dead or damaged stems.

Hard pruning can be done in late winter or early spring to encourage bushier growth and more flowers. Thin out dense areas to improve air circulation.
