Water regularly during the spring growing season, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Reduce watering significantly as the foliage begins to yellow and die back in early summer.

Allow the soil to dry out during dormancy in summer and autumn.

Deadhead spent flowers to prevent seed formation and direct energy back into the bulb. Remove yellowed or dead foliage only after it has completely withered, typically in early to mid-summer.

This allows the bulb to replenish its reserves for the following year.

Hybrid bluebells are best propagated by dividing established clumps after flowering when the foliage has died back. Carefully separate the bulbs and replant them immediately in well-draining soil.

Seeds are rarely viable or will not come true to the parent hybrid.

Repot dormant bulbs in late summer or early autumn into fresh, well-draining potting mix. If grown in containers, this is an opportunity to refresh the soil and check for any signs of disease or pests.
