Pruning Freycinetia arborea is primarily for shaping and maintaining desired size. Remove dead, damaged, or overgrown stems at any time of year. You can also trim back aerial roots if they become unruly.

Use clean, sharp pruning shears to make clean cuts.

Propagation is best achieved through stem cuttings or division of established clumps. Take 10-15 cm cuttings from healthy stems and plant them in moist, well-draining potting mix.
