Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is a common cause of root rot. In its natural habitat, it experiences periods of drought, so it's better to underwater than overwater.

Reduce watering significantly during cooler months.

Prune to maintain shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove any dead, damaged, or leggy stems. Pinch back the tips of young stems to promote branching.

Pruning can be done year-round as needed, but is best after flowering.

Easily propagated from stem cuttings. Take cuttings of 5-10 cm length, allow them to callus for a few days, and then plant in well-draining soil. Roots will form within a few weeks. Can also be grown from seed.

Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Use a gritty, well-draining potting mix, such as a cactus or succulent mix. Repot in spring before the active growing season begins.

Ensure the new pot has drainage holes.
