Watering, pruning, propagation, and repotting details from plant data
Indian Wormwood prefers well-drained soil and is drought-tolerant once established. Water moderately when the top inch of soil feels dry. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot.
Reduce watering frequency during winter months when the plant is dormant.
Prune Indian Wormwood in early spring before new growth begins to shape the plant and remove any dead or damaged stems.
Light trimming throughout the growing season can encourage bushier growth and prevent it from becoming leggy. Deadheading spent flowers is not typically necessary.
Indian Wormwood is easily propagated from stem cuttings taken in spring or early summer.
Select healthy, non-flowering stems, cut them about 10-15 cm long, remove lower leaves, and plant them in moist, well-draining potting mix. Cuttings should root within a few weeks.
Repot Indian Wormwood only when it becomes root-bound, typically every 2-3 years. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one. Use a well-draining potting mix.
Repot in spring before active growth begins to minimize transplant shock.
