Latin Thorn-AppleDatura ceratocaula

Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Reduce watering slightly during cooler months, but avoid letting the soil dry out completely.

Good drainage is crucial to prevent root rot.

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Pinching back young stems encourages bushier growth and more blooms.

Deadheading spent flowers can also promote further flowering.

Propagate from seed sown in spring, or from cuttings taken in summer. Seeds may require scarification or stratification. Cuttings should be rooted in well-draining potting mix in a warm, humid environment.

Patience is key for successful germination and rooting.

Repot young plants annually in spring. Mature plants can be repotted every 2-3 years or when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix.

Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one to avoid waterlogging.
