Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Allow excess water to drain away completely. Reduce watering significantly during the winter dormancy period to prevent root rot.

Overwatering is the most common cause of failure with this plant.

Pruning is generally not required for Ledebouria rupestris unless removing dead or damaged leaves. If the plant becomes leggy, you can trim it back to encourage bushier growth.

Pruning can also be done after flowering to tidy up the appearance.

Easily propagated from offsets or bulb division. Gently separate the small bulbils from the mother plant. Allow the offsets to callus for a day or two before planting in well-draining soil.

Water sparingly until roots establish.

Repot every 2-3 years or when the pot becomes crowded with offsets. Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a cactus or succulent blend. Repot in spring or early summer, just as new growth begins.

Choose a pot only slightly larger than the current root ball.
