Watering, pruning, propagation, and repotting details from plant data
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged, especially during the growing season. Water when the top centimeter of soil feels dry to the touch.
Reduce watering slightly during the dormant period in winter, but do not allow the soil to dry out completely.
Pruning is generally not required for Asarum lemmonii. Remove any dead or damaged foliage as needed to maintain a tidy appearance. This can be done at any time of year.
Avoid excessive pruning, as it can disrupt the plant's natural growth habit.
Asarum lemmonii can be propagated by division of established clumps in early spring or autumn.
Carefully dig up the plant and divide the rhizomes into smaller sections, ensuring each section has roots and at least one growth bud. Replant immediately into moist soil.
Repotting is infrequently needed, typically only when the plant becomes root-bound or outgrows its container. This is best done in early spring before new growth emerges.
Use a well-draining potting mix and choose a container only slightly larger than the current one.
