Pruning is generally not required for Lobivia hertrichiana, as it naturally forms a compact, clumping habit. If any stems become damaged or diseased, carefully remove them with a sterilized knife or shears close to the body of the plant to prevent the spread of infection.

Propagate primarily through offsets (pups) that form around the base of the parent plant.
