Water regularly during the growing season, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. Reduce watering in winter to prevent waterlogging. Ensure good drainage to avoid root rot, especially in containers.

Overwatering is more detrimental than underwatering for this species.

Prune to maintain desired shape and size, and to remove dead or damaged branches. Light pruning can be done after flowering.

For shaping or to encourage bushier growth, prune back to a healthy bud or side shoot in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

Best propagated from semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer or hardwood cuttings taken in winter. Strike cuttings in a well-draining medium, such as a mix of peat and sand, and maintain high humidity until roots form.

Germination from seed is also possible but slower.

Repot young plants annually in spring, and mature plants every 2-3 years or when root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix. Choose a pot slightly larger than the previous one.

Ensure the new pot has adequate drainage holes to prevent water accumulation.
