Avoid overhead watering which can promote fungal diseases. Mulching helps retain soil moisture.

Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth begins. Remove dead, damaged, or weak stems. Thin out crowded branches to improve air circulation and light penetration.

Aim to maintain an open, vase-shaped structure. Pruning encourages vigorous new growth and better fruit yields.

Propagation is typically done by stem cuttings or division. Take 10-15 cm cuttings from current-season growth in summer and root them in a moist, acidic medium.

Division of established clumps in early spring or fall is also effective for multiplying plants.

Lowbush blueberries are best grown in the ground or in large containers that mimic their natural habitat. Repotting is rarely necessary if planted in the ground.

For container plants, repot every 2-3 years into a slightly larger container with fresh, acidic potting mix when the plant becomes root-bound.
