Water regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top few centimeters of soil to dry out between waterings, especially during the growing season.

Reduce watering in winter, allowing the soil to dry more between applications to prevent root rot.

Prune to maintain desired shape and size, and to remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Pinch back new growth to encourage bushier development.

Heavy pruning can be done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.
