Proserpinaca palustris thrives in consistently moist to saturated conditions. Water regularly to maintain a waterlogged substrate, especially if grown submerged in an aquarium or pond.

Avoid letting the soil dry out completely, as this can stress the plant. In terrestrial setups, ensure the pot is sitting in a water tray.

Pruning is primarily done to manage growth and encourage bushier development. Trim back leggy stems to about half their length. This can be done by pinching or cutting just above a leaf node.

Regular pruning helps maintain a compact and aesthetically pleasing form.

Propagation is easily achieved through stem cuttings. Cut healthy stems into sections of 5-10 cm, ensuring each cutting has at least a few leaf nodes.

Plant these cuttings directly into moist substrate or float them in water. Roots will typically form within a few weeks.

Repotting is rarely necessary unless the plant outgrows its container or the substrate needs refreshing. If repotting, do so gently to avoid damaging the roots. Use a nutrient-rich aquatic or bog-like substrate.
