Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of Echeveria colorata rot.

Water thoroughly until it drains from the pot, then wait for the soil to be dry to the touch before watering again. Reduce watering significantly in winter.

Pruning is generally not required for Echeveria colorata unless removing dead or damaged leaves. If the plant becomes leggy, you can prune it back to encourage bushier growth.

Cuttings from pruning can be used for propagation.

Propagate Echeveria colorata by leaf cuttings or offsets. For leaf cuttings, gently twist off a healthy leaf and allow it to callus for a few days before placing it on well-draining soil.

Offsets can be carefully separated and potted once they have roots.

Repot Echeveria colorata every 2-3 years or when it outgrows its container. Use a well-draining succulent or cactus mix. Choose a pot slightly larger than the current one.

Repotting is best done in spring or early summer.
