Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water thoroughly when the top few centimeters of soil are dry. Reduce watering significantly during winter months to prevent root rot.

Overwatering is the most common cause of problems.

Prune only to remove dead, damaged, or diseased foliage. To encourage a bushier habit, you can occasionally prune back the main stem or side shoots. Use clean, sharp tools for pruning.

Propagation is typically done by seeds, which require warm conditions to germinate. Alternatively, offsets (pups) that may form at the base of mature plants can be carefully removed and potted up.

Repot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a cactus or succulent blend. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one.
