Water regularly, especially during dry periods, but avoid waterlogged soil. Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. In hot weather, more frequent watering may be necessary.

Consistent moisture promotes better flowering.

Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage continuous blooming and prevent self-seeding. Pinch back young plants to promote bushier growth.

Light pruning can also be done to shape the plant and remove any dead or damaged stems.

Easily grown from seed sown directly into the garden after the last frost, or started indoors 4-6 weeks prior. Seeds germinate in 7-14 days. Can also be propagated by cuttings taken in late spring or early summer.

Generally grown as an annual, so repotting is not typically necessary. If grown in containers and overwintering is desired, repot into a slightly larger container with fresh potting mix in early spring before new growth begins.
