Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of root rot in Aloe perfoliata.

Water thoroughly when the soil is dry, and ensure good drainage to prevent waterlogging, especially during the dormant winter months when watering should be significantly reduced.

Pruning for Aloe perfoliata is primarily for removing dead or damaged leaves and to manage its size if it becomes too large for its pot. Use a clean, sharp knife or shears. Cut leaves at the base of the plant.

Pruning is best done in spring or early summer before the main growth period.

Aloe perfoliata readily propagates through offsets (pups) that grow at the base of the parent plant.

Once the offsets have developed a few leaves and some roots, carefully separate them from the mother plant using a clean knife. Allow the cut end to callous over for a few days before planting in well-draining soil.

Repot your Rubble Aloe every 2-3 years, or when it outgrows its current container. The best time to repot is in spring. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one and has drainage holes.

Use a well-draining succulent or cactus potting mix to ensure proper aeration and prevent water retention.
