Monotagma laxum prefers consistently moist soil. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid letting the plant sit in waterlogged conditions, as this can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering slightly during cooler months but do not allow the soil to dry out completely.

Pruning is generally not required for Monotagma laxum unless necessary to remove dead, damaged, or diseased foliage. If desired, you can lightly trim to maintain shape or encourage bushier growth.

Use clean, sharp shears to make cuts just above a leaf node or growth point.

Monotagma laxum can be propagated by division or stem cuttings. Divisions can be made in spring by carefully separating rhizomes with at least one shoot and root.

Stem cuttings, about 10-15 cm long, can be rooted in moist potting mix under high humidity and warmth.

Repot Monotagma laxum every 2-3 years, or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one. Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of peat moss, perlite, and compost.
