Phalaris angusta prefers consistent moisture, especially during its active growth phase. Water deeply when the top few centimeters of soil feel dry. Avoid waterlogging, as this can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering frequency in cooler months or when the plant is dormant.

Pruning is generally minimal. Remove dead or damaged foliage as needed to maintain a tidy appearance.

Cut back the entire plant to near ground level in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges to encourage vigorous new shoots.

Phalaris angusta is easily propagated by division of clumps in spring or autumn. Seeds can also be sown directly outdoors in spring after the last frost. Ensure good drainage for both methods.
