Water Natal Plum regularly, especially during its establishment phase and dry periods. Allow the top 2-5 cm of soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering in winter, but do not let the soil become completely dry.

Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure good drainage.

Prune Natal Plum to shape the plant, maintain size, and encourage fruiting. Light pruning can be done anytime, but heavier pruning is best done after fruiting or in late winter.

Remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches to promote air circulation and fruit production.

Natal Plum can be propagated by seeds, cuttings, or grafting. Seeds require stratification and are slow to germinate.

Semi-hardwood cuttings taken in late summer or early autumn usually root well under humid conditions with bottom heat. Grafting is also effective.
