Prune to remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. The best time for major pruning is typically in late winter or early spring before sap flow begins. Light shaping can be done after flowering.

Avoid heavy pruning, as it can reduce flowering and fruiting.

Propagation is best done by seed, sown in autumn. Stratify seeds by exposing them to a cold period for 3-4 months before sowing.

Alternatively, semi-hardwood cuttings can be taken in mid-summer and treated with rooting hormone. Grafting is also a viable method.

Repot young trees every 2-3 years in early spring before new growth starts. Mature trees typically do not require frequent repotting and can be managed with top-dressing the soil.
