Deadhead spent flowers to prevent seed production, which can divert energy from bulb development. Remove dead foliage in late summer or early fall after the plant has fully dried down.

Avoid cutting green leaves prematurely.

Propagate primarily from offsets (bulblets) that form around the main bulb. These can be carefully separated during repotting in the fall.

Seed propagation is also possible but is a slow process, taking several years to reach flowering size.

Repot every 2-3 years, ideally in late summer or early fall when the bulbs are dormant. Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a combination of loam, sand, and perlite.
