Water regularly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow the top 2-3 cm of soil to dry out between waterings.

Reduce watering in cooler months, but do not let the soil become completely dry, especially if overwintering indoors.

Prune to control size and shape, and to encourage bushier growth and more blooms. Trim back leggy stems in spring and deadhead spent flowers regularly.

Harder pruning can be done in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges.

Propagate from seeds sown in spring, or take semi-hardwood cuttings in summer. Seeds can be sown directly into the ground after the last frost or started indoors a few weeks prior.

Cuttings root readily in moist, well-draining potting mix.

Repot young plants annually in spring to provide fresh soil and more space for root growth. Mature plants can be repotted every 2-3 years. Use a well-draining potting mix. Ensure the new pot has adequate drainage holes.
