Harungana madagascariensis prefers consistently moist soil. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry. Avoid waterlogging, as this can lead to root rot.

Reduce watering slightly during cooler, dormant periods but never allow the soil to dry out completely.

Prune to shape the tree and remove any dead, damaged, or crossing branches. This can be done at any time of year, but major pruning is best done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins.

Pruning also encourages bushier growth.

Propagation is typically done by seeds or cuttings. Seeds should be sown in a well-draining medium and kept moist and warm.

Cuttings can be taken from semi-hardwood in summer and rooted in a humid environment with bottom heat.
