Water Indian Plum regularly, especially during its first year and dry spells. Aim for consistently moist soil, but avoid waterlogging. Reduce watering in winter when the plant is dormant.

Deep watering is more beneficial than frequent shallow watering to encourage strong root development.

Prune Indian Plum to maintain shape and remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Light pruning can be done after flowering to encourage bushier growth.

Significant structural pruning is best done in late winter while the plant is dormant. Avoid heavy pruning which can reduce fruit production.

Indian Plum can be propagated from seeds, cuttings, or suckers. Seed propagation requires stratification. Softwood cuttings taken in early summer are most successful.

Suckers, which naturally arise from the base of established plants, can be carefully separated and replanted.

Repotting is generally not necessary for established outdoor plants. Container-grown Indian Plum may need repotting every 2-3 years as it outgrows its container.
