Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of death. In winter, reduce watering significantly to prevent root rot.

Water thoroughly when you do water, letting excess drain away.

Prune to maintain shape or remove dead or leggy growth. Pinching back the tips can encourage bushier growth. Use clean, sharp scissors or a knife. Pruning can also be done to propagate new plants.

Easily propagated from offsets (pups) or leaf cuttings. Allow cuttings to callus over for a few days before planting in well-draining soil.

Offsets can be gently separated and potted up once they have developed some roots.

Repot every 2-3 years, or when the plant outgrows its pot, preferably in spring. Use a well-draining succulent or cactus potting mix. Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one.
