Allow soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of death. Water thoroughly when the top few centimeters of soil are dry, especially during the growing season (spring and summer).

Reduce watering significantly in fall and winter, providing only enough to prevent severe wilting.

Pruning is generally not necessary for Agave parryi. Remove dead or damaged leaves close to the base of the plant using a sharp, clean knife or pruners. Be cautious of the sharp spines.

If the plant becomes too large, the entire plant will eventually die after flowering, producing offsets.

Propagation is typically done through offsets (pups) that form around the base of the mature plant. Carefully remove offsets with a sharp knife, ensuring they have some roots attached.

Allow the cut surface to callus over for a few days before planting in well-draining soil.

Agave parryi prefers to be slightly root-bound and does not require frequent repotting. Repot only when the plant has outgrown its container or if the soil has become depleted.

Choose a pot that is only slightly larger than the current one, with excellent drainage. Repot in spring.
