Alstroemerias prefer consistently moist soil, but not waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the top 2-3 cm of soil feels dry. Reduce watering in winter when the plant is less active.

Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot, especially in containers.

Deadhead spent flowers regularly to encourage more blooms and prevent seed formation. Cut the stems all the way down to the base of the plant.

Remove any yellowing or dead foliage as it appears to maintain plant health and aesthetics.

Alstroemerias can be propagated by division of established clumps in early spring or autumn. Carefully dig up the plant and separate rhizomes with at least one growing bud.

Replant divisions immediately into well-draining soil.

Repot Alstroemerias every 2-3 years, or when they become root-bound. The best time to repot is in early spring before new growth begins. Use a slightly larger pot with fresh, well-draining potting mix.
