Water thoroughly during the growing season (spring to autumn), allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.

Reduce watering significantly during the dormant period in winter, keeping the soil just barely moist to prevent bulb rot. Ensure good drainage to avoid waterlogged conditions.

Remove spent flower stalks and yellowing foliage as they appear to maintain a tidy appearance and prevent disease. Once the plant has finished flowering and its leaves begin to die back naturally in autumn, cut back all foliage to just above the bulb.

Propagate from offsets or bulbils separated from the main bulb during repotting. Seeds can also be sown in spring. Offsets and bulbils typically establish faster and flower sooner than seedlings.

Ensure clean cuts when separating offsets.

Repot every 2-3 years in spring, just as new growth emerges. Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a sandy loam or cactus mix. Ensure the pot has drainage holes.
